I Had No Ideaby Shoshanna Grey | More from this Blogger 26 Mar 2007 07:52 PM Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been around for a while. There is a very simple and wonderful reason for that - my dream finally came true! Finally Jayden is in our home and not just in our hearts. Now that I am rested up and beginning to figure out this "mommy thing" I can't wait to get started writing again. I have so much to share with you and look forward to jumping back into the world of the Families.com Adoption blog. To hold you over until I can post about our first days with Jayden, here is a list of things about finally bringing Jayden home that I did not expect. Here is my "I had no idea" list. I had no idea . . . •That I'd be shocked speechless when we finally received "the call". •That I'd be so excited and scatterbrained that I couldn't remember who to tell that we finally got "the call". •That I had forgotten so many things to get for the baby, even though we had been waiting 15 months for him. •How much stuff you have to pack to travel with a baby. •What an amazing feeling it is to wake up and know that you will meet your long-awaited child that very day. •How airsickness and a dislike of flying disappear when the plane is taking you to your child. •That I would instantly fall in love with my son's birth country and her people. •That the few hours we had to wait for him to arrive at the hotel would feel just as long as the months it took for his adoption to be completed. •That he would be even more adorable than in his pictures. •That there would be no way to describe that moment when I held my child for the first time.
