Most people in Texas are aware that there are many children in the foster system that are available for adoption. It is sad to note that many of these children will remain in foster status until they are eighteen years old and released into society.

Last November, Mesa Family Services, a company that licensed and operated foster homes in the Dallas area, lost its permit because two children had died violently in separate incidents in their homes in the last four years.

The foster / adopt training that we took informed and warned us about some of the behaviors and traits that we would see when we took foster children into our home. I am not a special needs expert, although I know a lot more now than I did then.

Fire Safety Inspection For Foster License

One of the requirements of our foster license was to maintain a permit with the relevant fire fighting authority. During the period that we held the license, we moved to another home that was across a county line so we had to also learn the rules of a second jurisdiction.
